Partnerships
Killusty National School works with many of the local sports clubs in order to promote physical activity.
We are lucky to get year-round weekly GAA coaching in Football and Hurling from the local GAA club (Fethard GAA). At certain times during the year we liaise with officials from Munster Rugby to give children opportunities to participate in tag rugby coaching sessions and attend local competitions in Fethard Town Park. For the teaching of Aquatics, we travel to our local swimming pool in Clonmel to avail of a 10-week block of coaching starting every January. Throughout the year we avail of local expertise in the area of athletics from locally trained coaches.
During the Month of May we partnered with Bernard Feery - Chairperson of the Killusty Fun Athletics Club, to host an Athletics Session with children of Killusty N.S. in the local Community Field. Enjoyed by all
We connect with our local GAA Schools Coaching Teams regularly throughout the year and avail of opportunities to participate and compete in matches, games and blitzes.
We also collaborate with our local Gymnastics and Dance Club - Kool School - to deliver a block of Zumba dancing at the start of the school year.
Every September and October we participate in the County Tipperary Cross Country organised by Tipperary Athletics and the South Tipperary Cross Country Championship organised by Clonmel Athletic Club.
