Active Schools Week

May 8th - 12th

ASW Monday May 8th

On Monday May 8th,  Day 1 of our Active Schools Week, we  partnered with Bernard - Chairperson of the Killusty Fun Athletics Club, to host an Athletics Session with the children of Killusty N.S. in our local Community field. Great participation and enjoyed by all the children.

ASW Tuesday May 9th

Day two of Active Schools Week took us to Dr. Morris Park for a morning of Gaelic Games, organised by the local GAA Schools Coaching Teams. Children participated in both Football and Hurling blitzes, all played out in high spirits.  This was followed up by a tour of Semple Stadium.

ASW Wednesday May 10th

Orienteering was on the menu for Day 3 of Active Schools week.
The children participated in three out door adventure activities. Check out our photos! The day finished off with a Tug - Of - War competition. The winning children's team faced the teachers team in the overall final! Great Fun indeed.

ASW Thursday May 11th

Day 4 of Active Schools Week saw the children take to the school grounds for obstacle course and circuit activities - All closed off with a very exciting Penalty Shoot out Competition.

ASW Friday May 12th

Day 5 of ASW was the most fun of all! The children embraced a variety of water based activities with much enthusiasm. Tonnes of running, throwing and not so much catching of the water balloons! It was a very sunny day so the grass benefitted to boot. A great way to end our ASW.
During Active School Week children replaced written homework with P.E. Homework. That got a big thumbs up!

A great variety of evening activity was enjoyed by all the children for the duration of the week.
At the end of Active Schools Week all the children were presented with a well-deserved certificate.
