Happy St. Brigid's Day

Children in the senior room made some lovely St. Brigid's crosses.  Check out their efforts below. 

JEP Treats

The senior room children enjoyed a special delivery of chips from the proceeds of their Junior Entrepreneur project, which capped off a very successful programme.

Rotary Competition

There was great excitement on Thursday the 9th March when Clonmel Rotary club came to present the prizes and certificates of a recent Young Writer's Competition based on the theme of 'Peace'. Well done to all who participated and thanks to the Rotary club for organising a super competition.

Maths Week

Maths week took place recently. We did lots of fun activities.  Have a look below to see what we got up to.

We were learning all about islands in Geography and completed these projects on islands all around the world. Check out some of our work below.

Islands Project

Migratory Birds

Children in the Senior Room in Killusty N.S. collaborated with the local Community on environmental education. They participated in a bio-diversity project - Migrating Birds in our local area. The children drew pictures and created stories about migrating birds. 


They embraced the opportunity to think about Biodiversity and observe our visiting nature from other parts of the world.

Zumba

Children in the senior room finished their Zumba classes with Niall. Check out some pictures and videos below to see our new moves.

Sixth Class Graduation

On Friday the 17th June, we bid farewell to Joe and Joseph, our two Sixth Class boys. Fr Everard celebrated a lovely mass in Killusty Church attended by the school and local community. Everybody will greatly miss the two boys and we wish them the best of luck as they start a new and exciting chpater in their lives. 

Football Challenge Matches

Children from 3rd-6th class were teamed up with children from Moyglass NS to take on Holy Trinity NS from Fethard in challenge football matches on June 15th in Fethard Town Park. Everyone gave their all in what was one of the hottest days of the year. All games were extremely competitive with Killusty/Moyglass winning two games.

Visit From Fire Fighters

On Monday 13th of June a member from the local Fire Brigade visited Killusty N.S. and gave a talk to all the children about Fire Safety at home and in school. Children benefited by learning very worthwhile fire-safety messages and protocols.

Rugby Blitz

Children from 3rd to 6th class made the short trip to Fethard Town Park to take part in the 7-a-side non-contact rugby blitz organised by Munster Rugby. The children all performed brilliantly and won all four of their games against teams from Moycarkey NS and Ballyneale NS. Well done to everyone on a great day.

Sixth Class Graduation

Senior Room

Children in the Senior Room participated in the Someone Like Me Project - An initiative promoting inclusion in schools.

Writing Competition Senior Room

Children in the Senior Room participated in the Rotary Writing Competition organised by Clonmel Rotary Club. Imaginative and Fantastic short stories were entered by all the children. 

Well done to Tristan Byrne and Oliver O'Flynn were placed 2nd and 3rd in their category.

Showcase Day

The children had a very successful Showcase Day in the school on December 9th. All products were on display for all to see, but they didn't last long as all were sold out by the end of the day!

Cloneen Craft Fair

Well done to all children who became young entrepreneurs at the Cloneen Christmas Craft Fair. It was a very successful day of business and everyone had great fun.

Farewell Sixth Class

It is with great sadness that we said a fond farewell to the 6th Class earlier in the year. They have been amazing ambassadors for Killusty National School and they will be greatly missed.
