The senior room children enjoyed a special delivery of chips from the proceeds of their Junior Entrepreneur project, which capped off a very successful programme.

We were learning all about islands in Geography and completed these projects on islands all around the world. Check out some of our work below.




Islands Project
Migratory Birds
Children in the Senior Room in Killusty N.S. collaborated with the local Community on environmental education. They participated in a bio-diversity project - Migrating Birds in our local area. The children drew pictures and created stories about migrating birds.
They embraced the opportunity to think about Biodiversity and observe our visiting nature from other parts of the world.
Zumba
Children in the senior room finished their Zumba classes with Niall. Check out some pictures and videos below to see our new moves.








Sixth Class Graduation
On Friday the 17th June, we bid farewell to Joe and Joseph, our two Sixth Class boys. Fr Everard celebrated a lovely mass in Killusty Church attended by the school and local community. Everybody will greatly miss the two boys and we wish them the best of luck as they start a new and exciting chpater in their lives.




Ireland Reads for February

All children participated in a one-day marathon read supporting the Ireland Reads for February initiative.
Someone Like Me Project
Senior Room
Children in the Senior Room participated in the Someone Like Me Project - An initiative promoting inclusion in schools.
Well done to Zoe Thompson of
Third Class who took first place.



Writing Competition Senior Room

Children in the Senior Room participated in the Rotary Writing Competition organised by Clonmel Rotary Club. Imaginative and Fantastic short stories were entered by all the children.
Well done to Tristan Byrne and Oliver O'Flynn were placed 2nd and 3rd in their category.



A visit from the mobile Library 2021

It was great to have our mobile library back in action. The children were super excited!






Farewell Sixth Class
It is with great sadness that we said a fond farewell to the 6th Class earlier in the year. They have been amazing ambassadors for Killusty National School and they will be greatly missed.
